Active optical cable with SFP+ connectors carries 10 GbE links over 40 metres of fibre
The Axiom 10GBASE-AOC is a direct-attach cable built for 10 GbE links between SFP+ ports. It uses active optical fibre to span distances that copper twinax cannot reach. The assembly ships ready to install with SFP+ male connectors on both ends.
This cable is validated for Brocade equipment and delivers a 40 metre link over multimode fibre. Active optics maintain signal integrity across the full length without external power. The fixed 40 metre length suits rack-to-rack or row-to-row deployments where shorter copper cables fall short.
