Dell Compatible 40G QSFP+ Cable

The Axiom 40GBase-AOC is a ten metre active optical cable built with QSFP+ connectors. It is designed for 40 gigabit links between switches, servers and storage arrays in Dell environments.

Active Optical Construction

Active optical technology keeps the signal clean over the full ten metre span without the bulk of copper. The cable weighs 0.45 lb and measures 0.83 in by 9.02 in by 7.01 in, so it routes easily inside dense racks.

Suits 40G Dell Fabrics

This cable fits teams running 40G Dell fabrics who need a tested, compatible link. Buyers who want more length, a different connector type or a passive copper alternative should look at something else.

Questions about this item

Will the 10M cable length require any periodic inspection or replacement?

The 10M active optical cable is a passive assembly with no moving parts; it does not require scheduled maintenance or replacement under normal use.

What is the first limit reached when running this 40GBase-AOC QSFP+ cable continuously?

The primary limit is the 10M fixed reach; signal integrity is maintained across the full length without intermediate repeaters.

How much heat or power does the 0.45 lb cable assembly add to a rack running all day?

The lightweight 0.45 lb cable draws minimal power through the QSFP+ ports and generates negligible heat during continuous operation.
