Axiom Direct Attach Cable 10 Ft

This Axiom 470-AAGI-AX Direct Attach Cable is a twinaxial passive cable built for high-speed data transfer. It spans ten feet and carries QSFP+ male connectors at both ends. The design targets network administrators who need a reliable short-reach link between compatible Dell Force10 and PowerEdge hardware.

Suits Force10 and PowerEdge deployments

The cable fits Dell Force10 S-Series switches including the S4048 and networking modules such as the C7004 and C7008. It also serves PowerEdge M1000 environments that call for a passive twinaxial connection. Installations requiring active signal conditioning or longer reach beyond the supported distance should look at alternative cable types.

Passive twinaxial QSFP+ to QSFP+ link

The single deciding specification is the passive twinaxial construction with QSFP+ male connectors on each end. This construction determines whether the cable matches the port type and signal budget of the target Dell equipment. Verify that the connected ports accept passive twinaxial media before purchase.

Questions about this item

How far can the 10 ft passive twinaxial cable reliably carry data inside a rack?

The 10 ft length stays within the passive twinaxial reach limit, so it connects switches and servers at full speed without an active equalizer.

What does the QSFP+ to QSFP+ interface cap in practice?

The QSFP+ connectors mate directly with Dell Force10 S-Series, C7004, C7008, S4048 and PowerEdge M1000 ports, delivering the port's native lane rate without conversion.

What clearance does the 10 ft cable need for routing and bend radius?

The 10 ft passive assembly requires enough slack for the twinaxial bend radius and connector depth, so plan cable management channels that avoid sharp kinks at the QSFP+ ends.
