Pool transformer for low-voltage lighting

The Intermatic PX300 converts 120 V AC mains power to 12 V AC for pool and spa lighting circuits. It delivers up to 300 W of output from an electrostatically painted steel enclosure in a sand finish. The unit measures 7.25 in high, 5.25 in wide and 4.5 in deep and carries CSA and UL listings. It is suited for owners replacing a failed transformer or adding new low-voltage fixtures.

Replaces older 120 V to 12 V units

This model replaces a transformer that has failed or one that cannot supply the required wattage for the connected lighting load. The jump is worth it when the existing enclosure is corroded, the output voltage has drifted, or the total lamp wattage exceeds the old unit's rating. It is not for installations that require a higher output voltage or a different input voltage than 120 V AC.

Verify wiring and load before ordering

Confirm the supply circuit provides 120 V AC and that the combined wattage of all connected lights does not exceed 300 W. Check that the mounting location accommodates the listed dimensions and that local codes permit the CSA and UL listed enclosure. Ensure the low-voltage cable run is sized for the distance and total load.
