10 GBps SFP+ transceiver operates at 850 nm wavelength for 300 m multimode links
The Axiom 721000-002-AX is a 10 GBps SFP+ transceiver built for 10GBASE-SW iSCSI links. It uses an 850 nm wavelength and LC interfaces to connect switches, servers or storage arrays over multimode fibre. The module is new and matches the HP 721000-002-AX part number for direct replacement.
This transceiver fits networks running 10 Gb iSCSI where the link distance stays within 300 m on OM3 or OM4 multimode cable. It is not a fit for buyers who require single-mode reach or who need higher line rates for newer storage fabrics. The SFP+ form factor limits use to ports that accept this specific module type.
The 300 m reach at 850 nm is the single specification that decides whether this part works in a given link. Longer runs or single-mode cabling will not operate with this module. Verify the fibre type and distance before purchase.

You need an available SFP+ slot that supports 10 Gbps Ethernet or 10GBASE-SW iSCSI, typically found on 10 Gigabit switches, routers or server NICs.
Yes — if the existing link uses OM3 or OM4 multimode fibre with LC connectors and runs at 10 Gbps, the 850 nm wavelength and 300 m reach match those parameters.
Check the switch or NIC port statistics: the interface should report a 10 Gbps link speed, zero CRC errors and an RX power level within the normal range for 850 nm multimode.
