Solid Cat5e Riser Cable

This solid-conductor Cat5e riser cable comes in a 1000 ft pull box for permanent in-wall or between-floor runs. The purple jacket provides easy visual identification among other low-voltage wiring. It is suited for installers and network builders deploying structured cabling in commercial or residential buildings.

Verify Riser Rating And Conductor Type

Confirm that your local code requires a CMR riser rating rather than a plenum CMP rating for the pathway you plan to use. Ensure solid conductors are acceptable for your termination method, as they are less flexible than stranded patch cord wire and require compatible punch-down blocks or keystone jacks.

Replaces Stranded Patch Cable For Fixed Runs

This bulk cable replaces pre-made stranded patch cords when you need custom lengths for permanent horizontal runs. The jump is worth it when you are terminating dozens of drops and want to minimise waste, maintain consistent performance and meet fire-code requirements for vertical shafts.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Axiom Cat5e riser cable and what must be purchased separately?

The package contains the 1000-foot purple solid-conductor Cat5e riser cable; connectors, crimping tools and mounting hardware are sold separately.

Which version of this cable should I choose for a standard horizontal run?

The solid-conductor Cat5e riser construction is intended for permanent in-wall and between-floor horizontal runs in commercial or residential installations.

What does the 1000-foot length mean when the cable is installed in a real building?

A single 1000-foot reel supports multiple horizontal drops up to the 100-metre channel limit, with enough length for several work-area outlets from one pull.
