Enterprise 960 GB SATA SSD with 256-bit AES encryption, 520 MB/s reads, 485 MB/s writes, and hot-swap 2.5" drive in 3.5" carrier
The Axiom SSDEP40IE960-AX is a new enterprise solid-state drive built for Lenovo System X32Xx M2 and X3400 servers. It delivers 960 GB of capacity in a 2.5 inch form factor mounted inside a 3.5 inch hot-swap carrier. Hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption protects data at rest without host software overhead.
The drive connects through a SATA 600 interface limited to 6 Gb/s throughput. Sequential reads reach 520 MB/s while sequential writes reach 485 MB/s. This single interface and capacity combination determines whether the drive fits the storage pool and performance tier required by the target server platform.
Under continuous write workloads the drive maintains its 485 MB/s maximum transfer rate within the SATA 600 bandwidth ceiling. The hot-swap carrier allows replacement without powering down the chassis, supporting uptime requirements in the qualified Lenovo systems. RoHS compliance confirms environmentally friendly materials.

It is the maximum sequential read throughput the SATA 600 interface can deliver under ideal conditions; actual speeds depend on workload, queue depth and the host controller.
The SATA 600 link limits sustained transfers to roughly 600 MB/s, so the drive's 520 MB/s read and 485 MB/s write peaks sit within that ceiling.
It occupies a standard 3.5 inch hot-swap bay and connects via the bay's SATA backplane; no extra brackets or adapters are required.
