Purpose-built surveillance camera

The Axis Communications M4216-V is a 4 MP dome network camera intended for indoor and outdoor security installations. It delivers a maximum resolution of 2304 x 1728 pixels using a CMOS sensor and includes a varifocal lens with remote zoom and focus for flexible scene coverage.

Build quality and daily connectivity

The white dome housing is designed for discreet ceiling or wall mounting in commercial environments. Power over Ethernet supplies both data and power through a single cable, while an HDMI output allows direct connection to a public viewing monitor without a separate recorder or client PC.

Upgrade path and fit

This model replaces older fixed-focal dome cameras that lack remote focus adjustment or wide dynamic range combined with Lightfinder low-light performance. The jump is worthwhile when installers need on-the-fly focal-length changes and built-in deep-learning analytics support, but it is not for buyers who require a multi-sensor panoramic view or higher than 4 MP resolution.
