Professional Surveillance Camera

The Axis Q1809-LE is a 41 MP bullet network camera built for outdoor installations that demand extreme detail over long distances. It suits security teams monitoring large perimeters, critical infrastructure or public venues where forensic image quality is essential.

Outdoor-Ready Build and Connectivity

The white bullet housing is outdoor-ready from the box and connects via a single RJ45 port with PoE for simplified cabling. ONVIF support allows integration with standard VMS platforms, while a micro SD slot provides local edge storage redundancy.

Upgrade From Lower-Resolution Fixed Cameras

Moving from standard HD or 4K fixed units to this 41 MP model adds the pixel density needed to identify faces or licence plates at distance. The jump is worthwhile when investigation demands outweigh the increased bandwidth and storage load.

Questions about this item

What resolution and frame rate does the 7424x5568 sensor actually deliver over the network connection?

The camera streams 41 MP at 15 fps or 8K at up to 30 fps over its RJ45 PoE link.

What physical mounting and clearance does the bullet-style housing require?

The white bullet body is outdoor-ready and mounts on a wall or pole bracket; allow space for the protruding Canon tele lens and the side microSD card slot.

How is the camera powered and configured on first install, and which step is often missed?

Connect the single RJ45 cable to a PoE switch for power and data, then enable Axis Zipstream in the web interface — many forget to turn it on and lose the bandwidth savings.
