Cost-effective PTZ network camera

The Axis P5654-E Mk II is a PTZ network camera built for outdoor surveillance. It delivers HDTV 1080p resolution with a 21x optical zoom and a 77° field of view for wide area coverage. Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR provide true colours and detail in challenging light or near darkness. Axis Object Analytics detects and classifies people and vehicles for tailored monitoring.

Wired LAN integration with rugged housing

The camera connects via wired LAN and fits into IP-based security systems without additional wireless hardware. Its housing carries IP66, NEMA 4X and IK10 ratings for resistance to dust, water and heavy impact. It operates reliably across temperatures from -30 °C to 50 °C (-22 °F to 122 °F). Axis Edge Vault safeguards the device and protects sensitive data from unauthorised access.

Sustained outdoor operation with varifocal optics

The varifocal lens with an 84.60 mm maximum focal length maintains image quality during extended zoom use. Auto iris continuously regulates incoming light for consistent exposure in changing conditions. The CMOS sensor produces Full HD video at 1080/60p with lower power consumption than CCD alternatives. The robust construction supports continuous operation in harsh environments without performance loss.

Questions about this item

How far can the 21x optical zoom reach before image detail drops off?

The 21x optical zoom extends to an 84.60 mm maximum focal length, providing detailed close-ups across the 77° field of view without digital enlargement.

Does the IP66 and IK10 rated housing stay cool and quiet during continuous outdoor operation?

The camera is rated for -30 °C to 50 °C ambient temperatures and uses passive cooling, so it runs silently with no fan noise even during all-day recording.

What network infrastructure is required to power and connect this PTZ camera?

It uses a wired LAN connection and supports Power over Ethernet, so a single Ethernet cable to a PoE switch or injector provides both data and power.
