Connects HDMI devices to VGA displays up to 1920x1080@60Hz with 3.5mm audio and USB power
The Bailink HDMI to VGA adapter connects a source device with an HDMI output to a display that only accepts a VGA input. It is intended for users who need to keep using an older monitor, projector or HDTV with a newer computer, laptop, Chromebook, Raspberry Pi, Intel NUC, games console or streaming box. The adapter is not bi-directional and cannot send a VGA signal to an HDMI screen. Buyers who need to convert a VGA source to an HDMI display cannot use this product.
The adapter plugs directly into the HDMI port of the source and accepts a standard VGA cable on the female port, requiring no software drivers. A 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and a male-to-male audio cable are included so sound can be routed to speakers or a display with audio input. Power is drawn from the HDMI port when the source supplies enough current; otherwise the supplied USB-to-Micro-USB cable must be connected to a USB port or charger to maintain a stable signal. The compact 45 by 44.7 by 15.4 mm housing adds minimal bulk to a desk or travel setup.
The unit is completely passive and contains no fan, so it produces no audible noise in normal use. It supports HDCP 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 for protected content playback. Video formats accepted on the HDMI side include 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, with the VGA output matching those formats up to a maximum of 1920 by 1080 at 60 Hz. Power consumption is low enough that many sources can drive the adapter without the external USB cable.
