Baldwin Filters PA3643 Hydraulic Tank Filter

The Baldwin Filters PA3643 is a hydraulic tank breather cartridge designed for Caterpillar equipment, off-highway trucks and Generac generators. It fits maintenance teams and fleet operators who need a direct replacement filter for hydraulic reservoirs on heavy machinery.

Cartridge design with specific dimensions

The cartridge measures 4 19/32 inches in outside diameter and 5 7/8 inches in height, with an inside diameter of 1 5/8 inches. No thread size applies, so installation relies on the housing fit rather than a threaded connection, simplifying change-outs during scheduled service intervals.

Check housing fit and equipment compatibility

Verify that your hydraulic tank breather housing accepts a cartridge with a 4 19/32 inch outside diameter and 1 5/8 inch inside diameter. This filter is not for buyers who need a threaded breather or a different diameter cartridge for non-listed machinery.

Questions about this item

What thread size does the PA3643 hydraulic tank breather use?

The filter has no thread size; it mounts as a cartridge breather on compatible Caterpillar equipment, off‑highway trucks and Generac generators.

What are the exact outside dimensions of the PA3643 cartridge?

Outside diameter is 4 19/32 in and height is 5 7/8 in, so the mounting opening must accommodate those measurements.

How is the PA3643 breather installed and what step is often missed?

Insert the cartridge into the tank breather housing and seat the seal fully; the common mistake is leaving the seal unseated, which lets unfiltered air enter.
