Baldwin PT191 Hydraulic Filter Element

The Baldwin PT191 is a cartridge-style hydraulic filter element designed for equipment from Clark, Euclid, Gradall and Sullair. It replaces the original sump element in hydraulic systems where a 20-micron rating is specified. The unit ships new and includes the necessary gaskets for installation.

Sustained filtration at 20 microns

Under continuous operation the element maintains its 20-micron rating to protect hydraulic components from contaminant buildup. The cartridge design allows fluid to pass through the media while trapping particles that would otherwise circulate in the sump. Service intervals depend on the equipment manufacturer's schedule and operating conditions.

Direct cartridge replacement with included gaskets

Installation consists of removing the old element and fitting the PT191 with the supplied G253-A, G314, G359 and ES1041 gaskets. The thread size is not applicable, so the element seats without threading. Common issues arise when the housing sealing surface is damaged or when gaskets are reused instead of replaced.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 8-inch Baldwin PT191 cartridge generate during continuous hydraulic operation?

The filter element has no moving parts and creates no measurable heat; temperature rise comes from the hydraulic fluid itself, not the cartridge.

Which gaskets must I already have to install the PT191 element?

The box includes G253-A, G314, G359 and ES1041 O-ring gaskets, so no separate seals are required for installation.

Will the PT191 fit the older Clark loader and Sullair compressor I still run?

Yes, the catalogue lists Clark, Euclid, Gradall equipment and Sullair compressors as approved applications for this 20-micron cartridge.
