Questions about this item

Does the PT257 cartridge generate noticeable heat or noise when the hydraulic system runs continuously?

The PT257 is a passive filter element with no moving parts, so it produces no noise and adds negligible heat to the hydraulic circuit.

What existing fittings or housing must I already have to install the PT257 element?

You need a compatible filter housing that accepts a 3-1/2 in long cartridge with a 1 21/32 in outside diameter and a 7/8 in inside diameter, plus the supplied O-ring for sealing.

Will the PT257 fit older Caterpillar excavators that originally used Army-Navy hydraulic specifications?

Yes, the element is listed for use with Caterpillar excavators and Army-Navy hydraulic systems, so it matches those legacy applications.
