Baldwin PT573 Hydraulic Filter Element

The Baldwin PT573 is a cartridge-style hydraulic filter element measuring 12 1/4 inches in length. It carries a 5 micron rating and features an outside diameter of 4 1/2 inches with an inside diameter of 1 29/32 inches. The unit includes two ES1092 components and a furnished G417 gasket for installation.

Replaces Worn Cartridge Elements

This element replaces a used hydraulic cartridge when the micron rating or flow capacity no longer meets system requirements. The jump is worth it when pressure differentials indicate the current filter is restricting flow or bypassing contaminants. It restores the original filtration efficiency specified for the hydraulic circuit.

Fits Clark Lift Trucks And Loaders

The filter threads directly into the housing on compatible Clark lift trucks and loaders without requiring an adapter. Its cartridge design frees up housing space compared to spin-on alternatives while the included gasket ensures a positive seal. The element-only format means the permanent housing remains in service.

Questions about this item

What are the 12 1/4 in height and 4 1/2 in outside diameter that this cartridge filter needs to fit?

The cartridge measures 12 1/4 in tall with a 4 1/2 in outside diameter, so the housing must accept those exact dimensions.

How do I install the PT573 element and which step is most often missed?

Remove the old cartridge, seat the new element using the furnished G417 gasket and both ES1092 seals, then torque the housing cover to spec.

When should the PT573 hydraulic element be replaced and what indicates it?

Replace at the machine maker's hour or pressure-drop interval; a rising gauge reading past the 5 micron rating signals the element is spent.
