Baldwin PT694 Hydraulic Filter Element

The Baldwin PT694 is a hydraulic filter element designed for fluid-power systems. It measures 16 inches in length and carries a 12-micron rating. The cartridge-style unit uses an inside-out flow pattern. It is intended for maintenance crews servicing compatible John Deere equipment.

Cartridge Design With Inside-Out Flow

The element-only construction means the reusable housing stays in place while the cartridge is swapped. Inside-out flow traps contaminants on the inner surface, simplifying disposal and reducing the chance of recontamination during change-outs. The 12-micron media targets fine particles that accelerate wear in pumps and valves.

Direct Replacement Installation

Thread size is not applicable, so the element seats into the existing housing without tools. The 16-inch height and 4 3/8-inch diameter match the original envelope. Installers must verify the 2 7/16-inch inside diameter aligns with the centre post; misalignment is the most common cause of bypass leakage. Not suited for applications requiring a different micron rating or external thread connection.

Questions about this item

How often should the 12-micron hydraulic cartridge be replaced?

Replace the cartridge when the equipment's service indicator shows restriction or at the interval specified by the machinery manufacturer.

Will the 16-inch element reach its dirt-holding capacity before pressure drop becomes excessive?

The cartridge is rated at 12 microns; change it once the system's differential-pressure gauge signals that the limit has been reached.

Does the inside-out flow design run hotter or louder during continuous operation?

The filter element has no moving parts, so it generates no noise or heat of its own during all-day use.
