Hydraulic Filter Element for Komatsu Equipment

The Baldwin Filters PT708HD is a cartridge-style hydraulic filter element designed for Komatsu equipment. It carries a 9.8 micron rating to capture fine contaminants from hydraulic fluid. The element measures 9-1/4 inches in length and 3 15/16 inches in outside diameter. Two attached end seals are included for a secure fit.

9.8 Micron Rating Limits Particle Passage

A 9.8 micron rating stops most abrasive particles while allowing adequate fluid flow for typical hydraulic systems. It will not remove water or dissolved varnish, so separate water-absorbing elements or fluid conditioning may be needed in humid or high-temperature environments. The fixed rating cannot be adjusted for coarser or finer filtration without replacing the element. Thread size is not applicable, so the housing must accept a cartridge of these exact dimensions.

Cartridge Swap With Attached End Seals

Installation consists of removing the old cartridge and inserting this element into the existing filter housing. The pre-attached end seals simplify alignment and reduce the chance of seal damage during insertion. The most common issue is using a housing with a different inside diameter or length, which prevents the seals from seating properly and allows unfiltered bypass. Verify the housing accepts a 1 5/8 inch inside diameter and 9-1/4 inch length before ordering.
