Baldwin PT765 Hydraulic Element

The Baldwin Filters PT765 is a cartridge-type hydraulic filter element designed for fluid-power systems. It fits Ingersoll-Rand compressors that accept a 5-inch tall cartridge with a 4 3/8-inch outside diameter. The unit ships new and includes an attached gasket and grommet for sealing.

5-Micron Rating And Fixed Dimensions

This element captures particles down to a 5-micron rating, which defines the practical filtration limit for the hydraulic circuit. The housing must accept a 5-inch length, 4 3/8-inch outside diameter and a 23/32-inch inside diameter because the element has no thread and cannot be adapted to other sizes.

Direct Cartridge Swap With Seals Included

Installation consists of removing the old cartridge and sliding the PT765 into the canister until the attached gasket and grommet seat against the housing faces. The most common issue is a warped or dirty housing bore that prevents the grommet from sealing, allowing unfiltered fluid to bypass the element.

Which micron rating should I choose for my hydraulic system?

This element is rated at 5 microns and is the only filtration grade offered for the PT765.

What does the 5‑micron rating mean once the filter is installed?

It will capture particles down to 5 microns, protecting compressor components from fine contamination.

Does the thread size limit which housings accept this cartridge?

Thread size is not applicable; the cartridge fits by dimension and is designed for Ingersoll‑Rand compressor housings.
