Mini-Beam 475 nm Convergent Sensor

The Banner SM312CVBQD is a rectangular proximity sensor with an M18 mounting thread and a visible blue LED beam at 475 nm. It detects objects at a 16 mm focal point using convergent optics and supplies both NPN and PNP outputs. The unit operates from a 10-30 V dc supply and is rated for industrial environments between -20 °C and 70 °C.

Integral M12 4-pin Euro quick-disconnect

Installation uses the built-in M12 connector for a secure, tool-free connection to standard cordsets. A potentiometer on the housing adjusts the sensing threshold for light or dark operate modes. The thermoplastic body meets NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 12 and IP67 ratings, resisting wash-down and dust. No remote teach or timing functions are present, so setup is limited to local potentiometer adjustment.

1 ms response with 300 µs repeatability

Under continuous operation the sensor maintains a 1 ms output response time and 300 µs repeatability across the full temperature range. The 100 ms power-up delay stabilises the output before the first measurement cycle. Encapsulated electronics and an acrylic lens protect against vibration and humidity up to 90 % at 50 °C, ensuring consistent performance during sustained production runs.
