Compact travel umbrella

The BAODINI 8811 is a lightweight automatic umbrella with a 42 inch Arc canopy that weighs 12 oz. It opens and closes with a single button press and is designed to fit inside a medium purse or backpack. The beige fabric blocks 99% of UV radiation for sun protection while remaining waterproof for rain.

Who this suits

Commuters and travellers who want one compact canopy for both wet and bright conditions will find the automatic mechanism convenient for quick transitions. Buyers who need coverage for more than one person or a larger walking diameter should look at a different size.

Sustained wind behaviour

The frame uses eight resin-reinforced fiberglass ribs to resist inversion better than six-rib models during gusts. Under prolonged strong wind the canopy may still flip, but the flexible rib structure is intended to recover without permanent bending when the pressure eases.

Questions about this item

Does the automatic open button need a battery or power source to work?

The automatic open and close function is purely mechanical; pressing the button releases the spring-loaded frame, so no battery or external power is required.

Will the 8 resin-reinforced fiberglass ribs fit through the sleeve of my older compact umbrella case?

The folded umbrella measures small enough for a medium purse, and the 8 ribs collapse inline with the shaft, so it slides into most standard compact umbrella sleeves without forcing.

How can I confirm the 99% UV block claim is still effective after several months of use?

Hold the open canopy up to bright sunlight; if you feel noticeably cooler underneath and no strong light penetrates the beige fabric, the UPF coating is still performing as intended.
