Compact Travel Umbrella

The SY COMPACT FBA-C-Starry Sky Blue is a lightweight umbrella designed for men and women who need reliable rain protection while commuting or travelling. Its automatic open button allows one-handed deployment in sudden downpours. The compact 12 inch folded length fits easily into backpacks, glove compartments or briefcases. It suits anyone wanting a portable shield for daily use.

Windproof Frame and Canopy

An 8-rib fortified frame with fiberglass flex clips and a chrome-plated metal shaft supports a 42 inch canopy when open. The 210T polyester fabric features a waterproof coating that prevents soak-through during heavy rain. A rubberised grip keeps the handle secure in wet conditions. The design collapses to 11.5 inches, freeing space in luggage without sacrificing coverage.

Sustained Weather Protection

The canopy material blocks harmful UV rays with a UPF50+ rating on select prints, making it useful for both rainy and sunny conditions. Stainless steel components resist corrosion during prolonged exposure to moisture. The automatic mechanism is built for repeated open and close cycles. Buyers needing a larger canopy for more than two people or a non-automatic mechanism should consider other options.

Questions about this item

How much wind can the 8-rib frame handle before it inverts?

The umbrella uses an 8-rib fortified frame with a fiberglass flex clip designed to resist inversion in strong gusts, though no specific wind-speed rating is published.

Does the chrome-plated shaft or the rubberized grip get hot or slippery after hours in sun or rain?

The rubberized grip stays slip-free when wet, and the chrome-plated metal shaft does not retain heat; the canopy's UPF50+ coating blocks UV rays during extended sun exposure.

What must I already own for the auto open/close button to work?

Nothing — the mechanism is fully mechanical and spring-loaded, so it operates with one hand without batteries, charging or a smartphone app.
