BAOFENG BF-33C FRS Two-Way Radios 3 Pack

License-free FRS radios for family use

The BAOFENG BF-33C three-pack provides 22 FRS channels for licence-free communication. Each unit weighs 5.3 oz and includes a belt clip and lanyard for hands-free carry. The radios are water-resistant and feature a built-in flashlight and SOS alert for emergencies. They suit families, children and outdoor groups needing simple push-to-talk contact.

Range and power limits on FRS

The FRS standard caps output power, so the claimed 3-mile or 5 km range only occurs in open terrain with no obstructions. Buildings, hills and dense foliage will reduce usable distance significantly. The 1400mAh lithium cells run at 3.7 volts and charge via USB-C; three AA cells can serve as backup. NOAA weather reception uses 12 dedicated channels but does not transmit.

Easy setup with common pitfalls

No programming is required; press the large PTT button to talk. VOX enables voice-activated transmission when a compatible headset is plugged into the accessory jack. Dual Watch monitors two channels at once but mutes briefly while receiving on either. The 10 call tones help identify callers. Remember that FRS channels are shared, so privacy codes only filter incoming audio.
