Reduces 1/2" ID tubing to 3/8" ID with barbed brass construction for secure, clamp-free soft-tube connections
This silver barbed reducer joins 1/2 inch inner-diameter soft tubing to 3/8 inch inner-diameter soft tubing in a custom liquid-cooling loop. It lets builders transition between the two common sizes without switching every run to a single diameter. The high-quality brass body resists corrosion and maintains a clean look inside the case.
The barbed ends grip the tubing directly so hose clamps are not required, though they can be added for extra security. No special tools or proprietary connectors are needed; the fitting threads into any component or block with a matching G1/4 port. It frees up routing options when a pump, reservoir or radiator uses a different barb size than the rest of the loop.
The fitting comfortably bridges 1/2 ID and 3/8 ID soft tubing in a single direction. It does not support hard tubing, compression fittings or other inner diameters, so builders needing different size transitions will require additional adapters. Each reducer adds one connection point, so loop planners should account for the extra joint in their leak-testing routine.

The fitting accepts 1/2-inch inner diameter tubing on one end and 3/8-inch inner diameter tubing on the other.
Brass conducts heat well but the small fitting mass adds negligible thermal load to a running loop.
Soft tubing with 1/2-inch and 3/8-inch inner diameters is required for the barbed ends to grip securely.
