What this adapter does and who uses it

The BaseNew XM-01 is a USB-C male to USB-A female adapter sold in a 10-pack with grey and black units. It lets you connect standard USB-A flash drives, keyboards, mice, card readers, controllers or charging cables to devices that only offer USB-C ports such as recent iPhone, iPad Pro, MacBook and Samsung Galaxy models. The adapter supports USB On-The-Go so phones and tablets can access peripherals directly without a computer.

How it fits into your kit

Each adapter measures 1.19 in by 0.58 in by 0.28 in and weighs 0.05 kilograms, so ten of them add negligible bulk to a laptop bag, car console or desk drawer. The aluminium shell resists scratches and dissipates heat, while the detachable keychain clip keeps one unit on your keys or bag strap for instant access. No driver installation is required; the adapter works as soon as it is plugged in and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 peripherals.

Behaviour under sustained use

Data moves at the USB 3.1 standard of 10 Gbps, which is far quicker than the 480 Mbps ceiling of USB 2.0, so large file transfers stay fast even during long sessions. The aluminium housing helps keep temperatures stable when the adapter is used continuously for backups or media streaming. Power delivery reaches 5 V at 3 A or 9 V at 2.2 A, allowing connected devices to charge at their supported rates without the adapter becoming a bottleneck.

Questions about this item

Does the 10 Gbps USB 3.1 speed hold steady when I copy large video files all day?

The adapter is rated for USB 3.1 at 10 Gbps; sustained throughput will depend on the host port, the drive and cable quality, and thermal limits of the aluminium shell.

How warm does the aluminium housing get and is there any fan noise during continuous transfers?

The aluminium alloy shell acts as a passive heatsink with no moving parts, so the adapter runs silently; surface temperature will rise with load but stays within normal operating limits for this form factor.

Which USB-A peripherals can I plug straight in without extra cables or drivers?

Any standard USB-A device — flash drives, mice, keyboards, printers, card readers, dongles, gaming controllers or charging cables — works immediately via OTG on supported USB-C hosts.
