Replacement batteries for XTS radios

Two 1525mAh Ni-MH packs rated at 7.2V supply power for Motorola XTS1500 and XTS2500 portables. The cells are built to survive six drops from six feet on every side without breaking or losing output. An 18 month warranty covers the battery packs.

For users needing direct NTN9815AR

Public-safety crews and commercial operators who carry XTS1500, XTS2500, PR1500 or MT1500 handsets gain a ready-to-fit replacement. Buyers whose radios require a different voltage, chemistry or connector should look at other options.

7.2V 1525mAh Ni-MH chemistry match

The single specification that decides fit is the 7.2 volt, 1525 milliampere-hour nickel-metal-hydride rating matching the original NTN9814, NTN9815 and NTN9858 packs. Only radios designed for this exact voltage and capacity will operate correctly.

Questions about this item

How often will the Ni-MH cells need replacing?

The 1525mAh Ni-MH packs are rated for an 18 month warranty period; plan on replacement once capacity drops below usable levels after that time.

What limits continuous transmit time on these 7.2V packs?

Capacity of 1525mAh sets the practical limit; extended high-power transmit cycles will drain the pack faster than standby use.

Do the batteries get hot or draw extra power during all-day use?

Ni-MH chemistry runs warm under heavy load but the packs are built to survive repeated 6-foot drops without thermal failure.
