Battery for Motorola XTS radios

This 7.5V 2700mAh Ni-MH pack replaces the NTN9858 cell used in Motorola XTS1500 and XTS2500 two-way radios. It also fits PR1500 and MT1500 models that call for the same original part number. The black housing matches the factory appearance and latch points.

Drop-rated durability for field use

The supplier states the battery survives six drops from six feet onto all six sides without breaking or splintering while continuing to power the radio. This mechanical resilience suits public-safety and industrial users who operate in rough environments. An eighteen-month warranty backs the cell quality.

Ni-MH chemistry sets the practical limits

Nickel-metal-hydride cells self-discharge faster than lithium types, so the pack benefits from regular cycling rather than long shelf storage. Capacity drops in extreme cold, and the fixed 7.5V output means the radio's low-voltage cut-off determines usable runtime. No built-in fuel gauge or smart-bus communication is provided.

Questions about this item

How much heat or power draw should I expect from the 7.5V 2700mAh Ni-MH pack during all-day use?

The 7.5V 2700mAh Ni-MH chemistry runs cool with no active cooling needed; normal warm-up occurs only under heavy transmit cycles.

Which radio models must I already own for this NTN9858 battery to fit and power them?

It directly fits Motorola XTS1500, XTS2500, PR1500 and MT1500 radios, replacing NTN9858 and NTN9814 packs.

Will the 7.5V 2700mAh pack work reliably in an older XTS1500 that has seen years of service?

Yes — it meets original specifications for the XTS1500 and XTS2500, and the ruggedised case survives repeated 6-foot drops onto all sides.
