BP9858MH radio battery for Motorola XTS

The BP9858MH is a 7.5 V 2700 mAh nickel-metal-hydride replacement pack built for Motorola XTS1500 XTS2500 PR1500 MT1500 radios. It replaces OEM part numbers NTN9858C NTN9814 and is aimed at professionals who need a direct drop-in power source for daily voice communications.

Sustained output with impact resistance

Cells are selected to meet or exceed the original manufacturer specifications and deliver steady voltage throughout a shift. The pack is tested to survive six drops from six feet onto all six faces without cracking or losing the ability to power the radio.

Simple swap with model verification

Installation is a straightforward battery swap — remove the depleted pack and slide the BP9858MH into the radio battery well until it locks. The only common issue is ordering the wrong pack for a similar-looking radio; confirm the radio model matches XTS1500 XTS2500 PR1500 or MT1500 before fitting.

Questions about this item

Does the 2700mAh Ni-MH pack run hot or draw extra power during all-day use?

The 7.5 V 2700 mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady output without the heat spikes seen in higher-density cells, so the radio stays cool through a full shift.

My radio is an XTS2500 — will this BP9858MH fit without any adapter or extra hardware?

The BP9858MH is a direct replacement for the NTN9858C and fits the XTS1500, XTS2500, PR1500 and MT1500 models with no adapter required.

I still use an older PR1500 — does this battery charge in the original desktop charger?

Yes, the BP9858MH replaces the NTN9814 and NTN9858 packs used in the PR1500, so it charges in the existing desktop charger without modification.
