Thermals noise and power draw

The battery operates at 7.6 V and stores 68 Wh of energy using standard lithium-ion chemistry. No active cooling or fan is present, so the pack runs silently and adds no audible noise to the system. Thermal behaviour follows the host laptop's own management; the battery itself draws no power when not in use.

Build quality and daily implications

The black plastic casing matches the original form factor and secures with the laptop's existing latch mechanism. A twelve-month warranty covers manufacturing defects. The package includes only the battery; no tools, screws or adapters are supplied, so installation relies on the notebook's user-replaceable design.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 68Wh battery in my Latitude 5480 and what step is often missed?

Power off the laptop and disconnect the AC adapter. Remove the base screws, lift the bottom cover, disconnect the old battery cable, fit the new 7.6V pack, reconnect the cable, replace the cover and screws. The step often missed is reconnecting the battery cable before closing the case.

What maintenance will the 21CP6/55/74-2 battery need over its life?

No scheduled maintenance is required. Keep the battery between 20 % and 80 % charge when stored, avoid high temperatures, and calibrate by fully charging and discharging once every few months to maintain gauge accuracy.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy use of this 7.6V 68Wh pack?

The pack will hit its thermal limit before its voltage sags, causing the laptop to throttle performance to protect the lithium-ion cells from overheating.
