This Belkin A3L791-10-BLK is a Category 5e Ethernet patch cable designed for standard wired network connections. It links routers, switches, computers and other RJ45-equipped devices in home or office environments. The ten-foot length suits typical desk-to-wall or rack-to-patch-panel runs. It is not intended for applications requiring Category 6 or higher bandwidth ratings.

100 MHz bandwidth and 24 AWG conductors

The cable is rated to 100 MHz characteristic impedance of 100±15 ohms, supporting Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet speeds over its full length. Bare stranded 24 AWG copper conductors keep the loop resistance at or below 89.2 ohms per kilometre. For 10 Gigabit Ethernet or longer runs beyond 100 metres, a higher-category cable is required.

50 micron gold-plated RJ45 connectors

Both ends terminate in RJ45 male plugs with 50 micron gold-plated contacts to resist corrosion and maintain low contact resistance. The connectors are unshielded, matching the UTP cable construction. Buyers needing shielded twisted pair for high-EMI environments should select a different cable type.
