Belkin Cat 5E Snagless Patch Cable

This Belkin A3L79115GRNS is a Category 5E unshielded twisted-pair cable with RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. It measures 15 ft in length and has a green jacket for easy colour coding. The snagless boot design protects the latch during installation and removal. It suits home and office networks running at Gigabit speeds.

For Gigabit Ethernet runs up to 15 ft

Installers who need a short, flexible patch lead for switches, routers or wall plates will find the length and snagless boots convenient. The green colour helps identify specific links in a crowded rack or desk setup. Builders who require shielded cable for electrically noisy environments should look at a different construction. Runs longer than the supplied length will need a different cable.

Category 5E rating determines maximum supported

The Cat 5E specification sets the bandwidth ceiling for this cable. If your network hardware operates above the Cat 5E rating, this cable will not deliver the higher throughput. Verify the category requirement of your equipment before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What speeds does a Cat 5E cable like this 15 ft model actually support?

Cat 5E is rated for up to 1 Gbps Ethernet, so this 15 ft green cable will carry Gigabit speeds without bottleneck.

How much clearance do the snagless boots on this A3L79115GRNS need behind a switch?

The moulded snagless boots extend past the RJ-45 body, so allow a few centimetres of depth behind the patch panel or switch for a clean fit.

Do I need any tools to install this Belkin patch cable, and what is the common mistake?

No tools required — just push each RJ-45 male connector until it clicks; the step people miss is not hearing the latch engage, leaving a loose link.
