Belkin Cat 6 patch cable 2 ft

This Belkin A3L980-02-RED-S is a two-foot Category 6 patch cable with RJ45 plugs on both ends. The red PVC jacket covers unshielded twisted-pair stranded copper wires. Gold-plated connectors and moulded strain relief are built in for durable everyday connections.

Home and office users needing a short link

The short length suits desk-side connections between a computer, router or switch where a longer run would create clutter. It is not for buyers who need a cable to span rooms, floors or cabinet distances. Installers requiring shielded cable for high-interference environments should look elsewhere.

Two-foot length decides the fit

At exactly two feet the cable only reaches devices that sit close together on the same surface. Measure the required path before ordering; a longer cable is necessary for any greater separation.

Questions about this item

What does the Category 6 rating mean when this cable is plugged into a router and a PC?

It supports gigabit Ethernet speeds up to 1 Gbps over the 2 ft run, which is the standard throughput for Cat 6 links.

The connectors are RJ45 — does that limit the link to a specific Ethernet standard?

The RJ45 plugs carry all four twisted pairs, so the connection is capped at the Cat 6 maximum of 1 Gbps rather than any higher standard.

Will the 2 ft length and molded boots fit behind a crowded patch panel or desk switch?

Yes, the short 2 ft patch cable with molded strain relief and a flexible PVC jacket routes easily in tight racks or behind equipment.
