6 ft Cat 6 patch cable

The Belkin A3L980-06-RED-S is a Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair cable fitted with RJ45 male connectors on both ends. It measures six feet and uses a red PVC jacket for easy identification in a rack or along a skirting board. Moulded strain relief and snagless boots protect the locking tabs during repeated insertion and removal.

Home and office wired connections

This cable suits anyone linking a computer, console, smart TV, printer or access point to a router, switch or wall outlet where a short red run keeps cabling tidy. It is not intended for outdoor burial, direct sunlight, or installations that require shielded or plenum-rated cable to meet building codes.

Cat 6 performance rating

The Category 6 rating defines the bandwidth and crosstalk limits that determine whether the link can carry gigabit and multi-gigabit traffic reliably. Verify that your network equipment and wiring standard match this category before installing.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this 6 ft red Cat 6 cable or a different length or colour?

Pick the 6 ft length when the router and device are close together; choose a longer cable only if the run needs more slack, and select red if you want colour-coded runs.

What does the Cat 6 rating mean for my actual connection speed?

Cat 6 is designed for Gigabit Ethernet so the link will run at the full 1 Gbps your ports negotiate.

What interface do the RJ45 connectors use and what speed does it cap at?

The RJ45 plugs carry standard twisted-pair Ethernet and cap at the Gigabit rate of the connected ports.
