Cat.6 UTP patch cable for network devices

This Belkin Cat.6 UTP patch cable connects network devices with RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. The ten-foot orange cable uses 28 AWG conductors and a snagless design to protect the locking tabs during installation. It is suited to home and office networks that require Category 6 performance.

Capacity and headroom for typical runs

Category 6 rating supports gigabit Ethernet across the full ten-foot length with headroom for standard patch-panel or switch-to-device links. The 28 AWG gauge keeps the cable flexible for tight routing behind desks or in racks. Longer permanent runs or higher-grade shielding needs are outside the scope of this patch cable.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

Passive copper construction means no active cooling, no fan noise and no power consumption during operation. The snagless boots reduce connector strain when cables are moved or reseated. Heat generation is negligible under normal network traffic loads.

Questions about this item

Will the 28 AWG cable fit into the RJ-45 ports on my older router and switch?

Yes, both ends use standard RJ-45 male connectors that are compatible with any RJ-45 port on network devices regardless of age.

How can I confirm the 10 ft Category 6 link is running at the expected speed after I plug it in?

Check the link lights on both ports; a solid or blinking LED typically indicates an active Gigabit connection on Cat.6 wiring.

Does the box include only the orange snagless patch cable or are extra connectors or tools supplied?

The package contains the single 10 ft orange Cat.6 UTP patch cable with snagless RJ-45 plugs on each end; no additional connectors or tools are included.
