Internal DVD Writer for SATA Builds

This Best Price Square IHAS124-14 is a 24X internal DVD+/-RW drive that connects through a standard SATA interface. The black panel suits typical desktop chassis and the unit arrives in new condition. It handles reading and writing across common DVD formats for everyday optical tasks.

Replaces Ageing Optical Drives

The drive upgrades systems that still rely on older CD-only or slower DVD writers by adding full DVD+/-RW capability at 24X speed. The jump is worth it when software distribution, media backup or legacy disc access remains part of the workflow. Machines that have moved entirely to USB or network installs will not benefit.

Fits Standard 5.25-Inch Bays with SATA Power

Installation requires an available 5.25-inch drive bay, a free SATA data header and a SATA power connector from the supply. The SATA 1.5 Gb link works with any modern controller without extra drivers. The drive frees a USB port that an external writer would otherwise occupy.

Questions about this item

Will the IHAS124-14 fit a standard 5.25-inch drive bay?

The IHAS124-14 measures 16.7 cm wide, 26.0 cm deep and 6.5 cm high, matching a standard 5.25-inch internal bay.

What is the correct way to connect the SATA data and power cables to the IHAS124-14?

Attach the SATA data cable to the motherboard port first, then plug the SATA power connector firmly into the drive; the step often missed is securing the data cable latch.

How often should the laser lens on the IHAS124-14 be cleaned?

Clean the lens with a dry optical cleaning disc only when read or write errors appear; the drive has no user-replaceable parts beyond the tray mechanism.
