60 GHz 2 Gb/s wireless link kit

The BFKK 60 GHz dish kit creates a 2 Gb/s aggregate link at distances up to 1500 m. It runs RouterOS on a quad-core ARM processor and is sold new for point-to-point backbone or last-mile deployments. The package includes two pre-aligned dishes ready for pole mounting.

1500 m range at 60 GHz

The single figure that decides fit is the 1500 m maximum link distance at 60 GHz. If the path between sites exceeds this distance or requires penetration through foliage or buildings, the link will not meet the rated throughput. Clear line of sight is mandatory for the specified performance.

Dish alignment and pole mounting

Installation consists of securing each 391 mm dish to a mast and aiming the narrow beam using the built-in alignment LEDs or RouterOS signal readings. The main failure mode is insufficient azimuth or elevation precision, which causes signal loss or unstable throughput. Firmware upgrades are handled through RouterOS.

Questions about this item

What does the 2 Gb/s aggregate link mean for real throughput?

The 2 Gb/s figure is the combined capacity of the link; actual throughput depends on alignment, distance and environmental conditions.

Which interface standard does the 60 GHz radio use and what does it limit?

The 60 GHz radio provides a directional wireless link up to 1500 m; range and stability are limited by line-of-sight and weather.

What mounting space does the Ø 391 x 222 mm dish require?

The dish measures 391 mm in diameter and 222 mm deep, so allow at least that footprint plus clearance for the bracket and cable routing.
