Directional Wireless Antenna RP-SMA

The HPE S1F83A is a panel-style antenna designed for indoor or outdoor direct mounting. It connects via an RP-SMA interface to compatible wireless access points. The directional radiation pattern focuses signal energy in a specific direction for targeted coverage.

Suits point-to-point or sector deployments

Installers extending links between buildings or covering long corridors will benefit from the focused beam. Buyers needing broad, omnidirectional client access across open floors should consider a different radiation pattern. The fixed panel form factor also limits reorientation compared to adjustable dipole antennas.

RP-SMA connector compatibility

The antenna terminates in an RP-SMA plug that must match the jack on the access point or extension cable. Verify the connector gender and polarity on the host device before purchase. An incorrect match will prevent a secure connection and degrade signal performance.

Questions about this item

Does the HPE S1F83A antenna ship with mounting hardware or must I buy brackets separately?

The antenna is a direct-mount panel; the package contains the antenna unit with its integrated RP-SMA connector and no separate brackets are included.

Should I select the indoor or outdoor version of the S1F83A for a warehouse deployment?

The S1F83A is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, so a single model covers warehouse installations without needing a separate SKU.

How does the directional panel pattern of the S1F83A affect coverage when mounted on a ceiling?

The directional panel focuses signal in a forward lobe, giving longer reach down aisles but narrower side coverage compared with an omnidirectional antenna.
