Black Box Corporation

Black Box LGC5212A 1310 nm 9.32 Mile Network Antenna

SKU CH-NGEJ-BC7CG MPN LGC5212A

A rail-mountable media converter with two PoE+ ports and a single-mode SC fibre uplink reaching 9.32 miles at 1310 nm

  • Single-mode reach up to 9.32 miles at 1310 nm wavelength
  • Three total ports including two PoE+ RJ-45 and one SC fiber port
  • Gigabit Ethernet over twisted pair and 1000Base-X fiber
  • Compact rail or wall mount at 0.8 in high by 3.6 in wide
  • RoHS and WEEE certified with six-year limited warranty

Single-mode fiber converter

The Black Box LGC5212A links a single 1310 nm single-mode fiber strand to two copper ports over 9.32 miles. It supports 10/100/1000Base-TX and 1000Base-X Gigabit Ethernet and mounts on a rail or wall. The unit ships new with a six-year limited warranty.

Installers needing long-haul copper-to-fiber

This converter suits technicians extending a single Gigabit link across campus or metro distances without intermediate switches. It does not serve sites requiring multiple fiber uplinks, PoE injection, or managed configuration features.

9.32 mile single-mode reach

The 1310 nm optic is rated for 9.32 miles on single-mode fiber, which decides whether the converter spans the required distance. Shorter or longer runs need different optics.

Questions about this item

Which port combination fits my link — the single SC or the two PoE+ RJ-45 ports?

Choose the SC port for a single-mode fibre run at 1310 nm up to 9.32 miles; use the two PoE+ RJ-45 ports when you need to power and connect copper devices at 10/100/1000Base-TX.

What does the 9.32 mile figure mean once the unit is installed?

It is the maximum reach on single-mode fibre at 1310 nm; actual distance depends on cable quality, splice loss and connector cleanliness in your installation.

How does the 1000Base-X interface cap real-world throughput?

The Gigabit Ethernet uplink is limited to 1000 Mbps full-duplex, so traffic cannot exceed that rate regardless of the fibre distance.
