Tool-free shielded RJ45 plugs terminate 22-24 AWG cable for 10 Gbps Cat6A links, reusable and PoE+ compliant
These shielded RJ45 plugs terminate Cat6A solid or stranded cable from 22 to 24 AWG without a crimper. The screw-on strain relief accepts jacket diameters up to 8.5 mm and meets 500 MHz bandwidth for 10GBASE-T links. Gold-plated IDC contacts follow T568A or T568B wiring. Four connectors per pack suit installers and DIY network builds.
The solid zinc-alloy shell provides continuous shielding that suppresses alien crosstalk across the 500 MHz passband. No active cooling is involved so the connector adds no noise and draws no power. PoE+ compliance under IEEE 802.3 at allows the plug to carry powered-device current without temperature rise beyond normal cable heating. The PC body and metal boot maintain signal integrity at typical rack or wall-plate ambient conditions.
Under continuous 10 Gbps throughput the shielded construction keeps insertion loss and return loss within Cat6A limits. The tool-free IDC termination resists vibration-induced contact degradation better than crimped plugs in patch-panel or field-termination scenarios. Reusable nut-type boot permits re-termination if a wire map error is found during certification testing. Not suited for cables thicker than 8.5 mm OD or conductors outside the 1.02 to 1.4 mm insulated range.

Strip the cable jacket, arrange wires in the T568A or T568B colour code, insert into the IDC modules, then tighten the screw-on metal strain-relief boot to 8.5 mm cable OD; the step often missed is fully seating each wire before tightening the nut.
The gold-plated contacts and zinc-alloy housing are rated for repeated mating cycles; under normal use no scheduled replacement is needed, but inspect the strain-relief boot threads if the cable is frequently moved.
The connector supports 500 MHz bandwidth and 10GBASE-T speeds with IEEE 802.3at PoE+; the practical limit is the 22–24 AWG wire gauge and 1.02–1.4 mm conductor OD range, which governs voltage drop and heating on long runs.
