Purpose-built PTZ for live production

The BirdDog X1 PTZ Camera delivers 1080p60 video with a 30x optical zoom, making it suitable for broadcast, conference and house-of-worship workflows that need remote-controlled framing. AI auto framing keeps subjects centred without a dedicated operator. PoE support simplifies installation by carrying power and data over a single Ethernet cable.

Thermal noise and power profile

PoE power delivery eliminates an external power supply and reduces cable count, which helps keep the installation tidy and the unit running cool in typical indoor environments. The integrated 2.93" E-Ink display shows status information without adding active cooling requirements. Wi-Fi 5 connectivity offers a wireless fallback when a wired link is not practical.

Bundled accessories and software impact

The package contains only the PTZ camera itself, so mounting hardware, network switches and PoE injectors must be sourced separately. HDMI and USB/UVC outputs provide direct compatibility with Microsoft Teams, Zoom and similar platforms without extra drivers. Colour matrix, API and Kelvin controls give integrators fine-grained image adjustment for consistent multi-camera setups.

Questions about this item

How do I install the BirdDog X1 PTZ Camera using PoE, and what step do people often miss?

Connect a single Ethernet cable from a PoE switch or injector to power the camera and carry data; the step often missed is confirming the switch delivers enough PoE power for the camera.

What maintenance will the BirdDog X1 PTZ Camera need later?

Periodically clean the lens and the 2.93" E-Ink display, check cable connections for wear, and apply firmware updates from BirdDog to keep AI auto framing and NDI HX3 features current.

What limit appears first when the BirdDog X1 PTZ Camera runs at 1080p60 for long periods?

Sustained 1080p60 operation can generate heat; the first limit is typically thermal throttling that may reduce frame rate or trigger a protective shutdown until the unit cools.
