3G-SDI to HDMI Video Converter

This Black Box converter accepts 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and standard-definition serial digital signals and outputs them over a single HDMI connection. It handles 1080i, 1080p and 720p at up to 2.97 Gbit/s, plus NTSC and PAL formats. The unit weighs 3.68 ounces and carries CE and RoHS markings.

Broadcast and AV installers needing HDMI monitoring

The device suits engineers who must display SDI camera feeds or router outputs on HDMI monitors, recorders or projectors. It does not embed or extract separate audio channels, so workflows that require discrete audio routing should look elsewhere. There is no scaling or frame-rate conversion beyond the listed native resolutions.

2.97 Gbit/s SDI input bandwidth

This bandwidth figure determines whether the converter can transport your chosen 1080p or 1080i signal without compression. Verify that your source equipment operates within this limit before purchase.

Questions about this item

What cables and power supply come with the VSC-SDI-HDMI and what must I buy separately?

The box contains the converter unit itself; you will need to supply a 3G-SDI source cable, an HDMI display cable and a compatible power adapter, as none of these are included.

Which video formats does the VSC-SDI-HDMI support so I can pick the right one for my source?

It accepts 1920 x 1080 at 1080i, 1080p and 720p, plus NTSC and PAL, all at up to 2.97 Gbit/s, so choose the format that matches your camera or switcher output.

What does the 2.97 Gbit/s figure mean when the converter is connected to a monitor?

It is the peak 3G-SDI data rate the unit can receive, enabling 1080p and 1080i signals to pass through to the HDMI output at their native resolution.
