Black Box Cat 6a Slim Patch Cable

The Black Box C6APC28-BL-10 is a Category 6a UTP patch cable built with 28 AWG conductors. At ten feet long it carries RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. The slim 0.161-inch diameter saves rack space and eases handling in dense telecom rooms and data centres.

Installers needing space-saving runs

Technicians who need easier finger access between ports and better airflow in crowded patch panels will benefit from the reduced footprint. Builders who require the mechanical ruggedness of standard 24 AWG cables or longer reach than ten feet should consider other options.

28 AWG conductor gauge

The 28 AWG wire gauge is the single specification that determines whether this cable fits the installation. It delivers Cat 6a performance in a bundle that occupies roughly half the area of a traditional 24 AWG patch lead, enabling high-density routing without cable managers.

Questions about this item

Does the 10 ft Cat 6a cable ship with both RJ-45 ends already attached or do I need to buy connectors separately?

Both ends are factory-terminated with RJ-45 male plugs, so no separate connectors are required.

When should I choose the 28 AWG slim version instead of a standard 24 AWG patch cable?

Choose the 28 AWG cable when rack density is tight; its .161 in diameter saves over 50 % bundle space and eases finger access during moves, adds, and changes.

What does the Cat 6a rating actually deliver on a 10 ft run in a live rack?

Cat 6a supports 10 Gbps over the full 10 ft length, and the stranded, snagless, booted construction maintains signal integrity in dense patch-panel environments.
