The Black Box ACR1020A-R is an IP-based KVM extender kit designed for administrators who need to operate dual-head DVI workstations from a remote console across a standard Ethernet LAN. It transports dual DVI-D video, USB 2.0 signals, and audio to a receiver unit located up to 330 feet away. The system suits server rooms, broadcast studios, or secure facilities where the computer must remain physically isolated from the operator.

100-metre copper limit

Video and data travel over ordinary copper Ethernet links with a maximum single-hop reach of 100 metres, matching the 330-foot figure supplied for the extender. Inserting additional network switches extends the path further, but each copper segment remains bound by that distance. The kit includes a second LAN port that supports teaming mode to aggregate bandwidth, while no-loss compression keeps the stream efficient without introducing visible artefacts.

1920 by 1080 per head

Each DVI output delivers a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080, giving two full-HD desktops side by side for monitoring or control tasks. That resolution ceiling means the unit comfortably handles standard office, surveillance, or industrial HMI layouts, but it cannot drive higher-density panels such as 1440p or 4K displays. Magic Eye support helps stabilise dithered graphics, yet the 1080p cap remains the hard boundary for any connected monitor.
