Category 6a bulk cable for installers

This Category 6a bulk cable ships as a 1000 ft pull of unshielded twisted pair with a CMP plenum jacket. Solid 23 AWG conductors support 10 Gbit/s transmission up to 650 MHz. The white LSZH sheath is halogen free and TAA compliant for regulated projects.

Capacity and headroom at 650 MHz

Rated bandwidth of 650 MHz provides headroom for 10 Gbit/s Ethernet and PoE+ power delivery across standard runs. Performance is specified for patch panel, wall plate, switch and server terminations. Unshielded construction means alien crosstalk margins are tighter than shielded alternatives in dense bundles.

Upgrade path from lower categories

Replaces Category 5e or Category 6 bulk cable when 10 Gbit/s speeds or PoE+ budgets are required. The jump is worth it for new plenum drops that must meet lifetime warranty expectations and TAA origin rules. Not suited for installers who need shielded cable for high-EMI environments or outdoor burial ratings.

Questions about this item

Will the 23 AWG solid conductors fit the IDC slots on my existing Cat 6 patch panels?

The 23 AWG solid copper conductors are sized for standard IDC terminations used on Cat 6 and Cat 6a patch panels and wallplates.

How can I confirm the 650 MHz bandwidth after installation?

Use a qualified cable certifier to run a full Cat 6a channel test; passing results at 650 MHz verify the link meets the rated performance.

Does the 1000 ft reel include any connectors or termination tools?

The reel supplies only the bare-wire CMP plenum cable; all connectors, patch panels, wallplates and tools are separate purchases.
