Black Box Corporation CAT6 400-MHz Shielded Solid Backbone Cable FTP Plenum Blue 10-ft 3.0-m

Shielded CAT6 backbone cable

Black Box Shielded CAT6 Patch Cables deliver Gigabit Ethernet performance in high-noise environments. The plenum rating allows installation in ducts, plenums, dropped ceilings and raised floors. Four twisted pairs with Mylar tape, a drain wire and an overall aluminum/Mylar shield protect against EMI and RFI interference. Molded slimline boots provide strain relief for high-density applications.

Sustained 400-MHz operation

Tested to 400-MHz and 1-Gbps performance, the cable exceeds the standard 250-MHz specification for continuous transmission of voice, data and audio/video signals. Gold-plated contacts rated at 50-micron maintain superior conductivity over time. Connectors are designed for an insertion and extraction life of 750 cycles, ensuring ultra-reliable operation under repeated handling.

Upgrade from unshielded patch cords

This cable replaces unshielded links where electromagnetic or radio-frequency noise distorts or destroys data. The jump is worth it when runs must pass through plenum spaces or high-interference zones. Buyers who need longer reach than the 10-ft 3.0-m length should select a different cable.
