Black Box Cat 6 patch cable 7 ft

This Black Box CAT6PC-007-OR is a Category 6 patch cable with RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. It measures 7 ft (2.1 m) and uses stranded conductors inside an orange jacket. The plugs are gold-plated, booted, moulded and snagless. It is RoHS compliant and carries a two-year limited warranty.

Stranded construction for flexible routing

Stranded conductors make the cable easier to bend around tight corners and through cable-management channels. The snagless boots protect the locking tabs during repeated insertion and removal. Gold-plated contacts resist oxidation for a reliable connection. The moulded strain relief reduces stress at the connector junction.

Suits short runs in home or office networks

This cable suits anyone linking a computer, router, switch or other network device over a short distance where a 7 ft length is sufficient. Builders who need longer runs, in-wall rated jackets or shielded construction should look at something else. Buyers wanting a different colour for cable identification will need another option.

Questions about this item

Will a 7 ft stranded patch cable stay within the Cat 6 channel length budget?

The 7 ft (2.1 m) stranded patch cable uses only a small fraction of the total channel allowance, leaving ample length for the permanent link and other cords.

Does the boot and moulded hood on this Cat 6 cable help it run cooler or quieter in a crowded rack?

The snagless boot and moulded strain relief protect the latch and wiring; they do not change heat or noise because a passive copper cable generates neither.

What devices must I already have to use this RJ-45 patch cable?

You need two network devices with RJ-45 ports — such as a switch, router, PC or IP camera — to plug each end of the cable into.
