Black Box Corporation HDMI EDID Ghost 2048x1152

What the device is

The Black Box HDMI EDID Ghost is a compact external unit that emulates a display’s EDID so a source keeps sending a stable video signal even when no monitor is connected. It supports a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1152 and draws power through an included USB cable.

Who it suits and who it does not

Installers who need a permanent EDID copy for digital signage, KVM switching or headless streaming will find the fixed 2048 x 1152 limit convenient. Buyers who require higher reported resolutions or multiple EDID profiles should consider a different solution because this model stores only one preset.

Deciding specification

The single figure that determines fit is the maximum emulated resolution of 2048 x 1152; if the source must advertise a larger timing to the sink, this unit will not meet that requirement.
