19-inch 1U vented blanking panel

The Black Box Corporation RMT945 is a 19-inch vented blanking panel that occupies a single rack unit in standard server cabinets. It is intended for data-centre managers and IT integrators who need to manage airflow in partially populated racks.

Steel construction and TAA compliance

The panel is made from black steel and meets TAA requirements for government procurement. A 45-day standard and a lifetime limited warranty are included, while the supplied user manual provides installation guidance.

Tool-less fit and airflow alignment

The 1.8-inch high panel mounts in a 19-inch opening with a depth of .5 inch and weighs 3.53 ounces. Installation is straightforward, but misaligned mounting holes or missing cage nuts can prevent a secure fit.

Questions about this item

Does the 1U vented panel require any filter cleaning or replacement over time?

The steel blanking panel has no moving parts or filters, so no scheduled cleaning or replacement is needed.

What is the first limit reached when the 19-inch panel is subjected to continuous airflow in a hot aisle?

The .5-inch depth steel construction handles sustained airflow without deformation; no thermal or structural limit is reached under normal rack conditions.

How much noise, heat or extra power does the RMT945 add when installed in a rack running all day?

The passive vented panel adds zero noise, generates no heat and draws no power — it simply directs existing airflow through its perforations.
