Network patch cable for structured wiring

This Black Box EVNSL642-0015 cable is a Cat 6 UTP patch cord built for standard Ethernet connections. It uses stranded conductors and RJ45 connectors on both ends. The 15 ft length suits typical rack-to-panel or workstation links.

Suited for gigabit links in office or home racks

Installers terminating Cat 6 horizontal runs will find the 550 MHz rating matches channel specifications. Builders who need shielded cable, plenum-rated jackets or lengths beyond 15 ft should select a different product.

Cat 6 550 MHz channel-rated performance

The cable meets Cat 6 requirements at 550 MHz across the installed channel. This single figure determines whether the cord satisfies the project's bandwidth specification.

Questions about this item

What connector spacing does the 15 ft Cat 6 patch cable need at the panel or jack?

Both ends use standard RJ45 connectors, so the cable fits any keystone jack, wall plate or switch port built to the RJ45 footprint.

Which orientation should the snagless boot face when plugging the cable into a switch?

Press the boot tab down while inserting the RJ45 plug until it clicks; reversing the tab prevents the latch from engaging.

When should the green 550 MHz stranded patch cord be replaced?

Replace it if the jacket shows cracks, the boot tab breaks off, or connectors develop intermittent contact after repeated flexing.
