Rackmount Kit for Freedom II 4-Port Switch

This metal bracket fits one Freedom II KVM switch into a single 1U slot. It is built for administrators who need to organise a single KV0004A-R2 unit in a standard rack frame. The kit includes the hardware required for a secure installation.

Passive Metal Construction

The bracket adds roughly .60 lb to the rack and has no fans or active cooling of its own. It relies entirely on the switch's natural convection and the cabinet airflow. Power draw and acoustic output remain exactly those of the mounted KVM switch.

RoHS-Compliant Metal Build

The all-metal frame meets RoHS and TAA requirements for regulated environments. Mounting points align with the Freedom II 4-port switch so the unit sits flush and cables route cleanly to the rear. The kit supports one switch per rack space.

Questions about this item

How do I install the KV0004A-RMK kit in a standard rack, and what step do people often miss?

Mount the metal brackets to the Freedom II KV0004A-R2 switch using the supplied screws, then secure the assembly into a 1U rack space. People often forget to tighten all bracket screws before sliding the unit into the rack, leaving the switch loose.

What maintenance or replacement will the rackmount kit need over time?

The kit is a passive metal bracket with no moving parts or electronics, so it requires no scheduled maintenance or replacement under normal use.

What physical limit appears first when the mounted switch runs continuously in a crowded rack?

The 1U height and .60 lb bracket leave minimal airflow clearance; sustained heat from adjacent devices can raise the switch temperature faster than in open air.
