Single-channel passive video balun

This passive video balun converts a single analog HD camera signal for transmission over unshielded twisted-pair cable. It supports TVI, AHD and CVI formats without requiring external power. Installers working with existing CAT5 infrastructure can use it to replace coaxial runs.

250-metre reach at 720p and 1080p

The balun carries 720p and 1080p video up to 250 metres over one UTP pair of 24-16 AWG wire. DC loop resistance is 52 ohms per 1,000 feet. Built-in transient protection guards the signal path. It is not suited for installations that need powered amplification or multi-channel aggregation.

Wire-press terminals and compact housing

A screwless wire-press terminal accepts 0.5-1.31 mm conductors for quick, tool-free connection. The unit measures 36 by 16 by 19 mm and weighs 18 g, fitting inside tight junction boxes. Operating range spans -10 to +50 °C at up to 95 % humidity. No mounting hardware is included.

Questions about this item

Will this 1‑channel passive balun work with my existing analog HD‑TVI DVR and coax cameras?

Yes, it is designed for analog HD‑TVI, AHD and CVI signals and the notes confirm no crosstalk when the DVR handles both coax and UTP transmission.

How can I verify the balun is transmitting a clean 1080p picture after I connect the CAT5 run?

Check the DVR monitor for a stable 1080p image at up to 250 m; the built‑in transient protection and super interference rejection should give a clear picture without extra power.

Does the package include the CAT5 cable and BNC connectors, or do I need to buy them separately?

Only the balun unit with wire‑press terminals is supplied; you must provide UTP cable (24‑16 AWG) and any BNC leads yourself.
